Right now, there seems to be one canonical tag, with 901 questions. There are also questions tagged and shudder . Yes, that's and . Should they all be retagged into ?

Yes, consistency is a good thing, and hard-drive looks to be the standard form in this case. I've retagged questions under harddisk, hard-disk, hard, and hard-drive as hard-drive. There are a good number under disk though, I wonder if a moderator can use their mass-retag powers on those questions.

disc seems to be used in the context of CD and DVD, not so much hard drives.

@SimonSheehan Would you create a wiki for [disk] that explains what it is? Then maybe we can do a retag effort for the [disk] questions that are [hard drive] questions. I don't know the difference. – Raystafarian Mar 12 at 13:47
Disks are inside the hard drive, that's all. That's why there's a difference between what a hard disk and a hard drive are – Simon Sheehan Mar 12 at 13:51
