This week, we are starting to roll out a preliminary version of the Stack Exchange Beta Tester Matchmaking Program. The gist of the idea is this: we have a community of talented developers over on Stack Overflow and a community of highly engaged super users over here on Super User. Why not try to put them together?

If you are interested in testing out software on desktop platforms, please fill out this form to sign up. (If you are interested in signing up as a developer, or in testing mobile apps or games, check out this Meta.SO post for more details.)

Ideas and feedback are always welcome. We're looking forward to seeing if we can get this program to fly!

Done! Curious to see who I might get linked up to. Perhaps we need a Careers page for Super Users ;-P – Ivo Flipse Aug 16 '11 at 14:49
Signed up! Always fun to try new things. – Simon Sheehan Aug 16 '11 at 15:09

All we're missing now is a Stack Exchange dating website for us tech-savvy people :P – Breakthrough Aug 16 '11 at 15:35
What power do you (@Abby_Ψ) have to make this happen? – wizlog Aug 16 '11 at 16:45
@wizlog I have access to the back ends of all these forms. In this early iteration of the program, we are matching people up by hand - testers who request certain kinds of apps and developers who request certain things in a tester. If the first few rounds go well, we'll formalize it and make it something more permanent. – Abby T. Miller Aug 16 '11 at 17:10
So why don't you have the support of some of the other well-known moderators. Its not that I don't believe you or anything... I just think its a bit odd for someone with only 206 reputation (40 of which is coming from this question), and its not as if your even a little active in SU... anyways... I'd like to join (if its real). – wizlog Aug 16 '11 at 17:13

@wizlog A valid concern. I work for Stack Exchange - so I am supporting this program in an official capacity. Sorry, I thought you knew that, or I'd have included it in my other comment. (My rep over here is only 206 because I created a new account when I was hired last month.) – Abby T. Miller Aug 16 '11 at 17:18
I was wondering when CHAOS was going to be coming over and working with SU. – KronoS Aug 16 '11 at 17:25

Interested in signing up but docs.google.com is blocked here in China. Is there an alternative way to put my name down? – 8088 Aug 17 '11 at 2:39
Lots of devs have problems testing their own apps properly. – Preet Sangha Dec 11 '11 at 20:49
