Dec 8, 2017 at 22:05 | comment | added | Scott - Слава Україні | Recommended reading: How do I properly use the “Not an Answer” flag? (a part of the Stack Exchange FAQ; it explicitly says that wrong and partial answers are answers, and should not be flagged or deleted), Your answer is in another castle: when is an answer not an answer? (a.k.a. “Your apple is in another orchard”), and its sequel, You’re doing it wrong: A plea for sanity in the Low Quality Posts queue.
Dec 8, 2017 at 22:05 | comment | added | Scott - Слава Україні | If I had a nickel for every time I flagged something, the flag was declined, and the post got deleted anyway, I’d be rich. I agree with Mokubai’s decision to “err on the side of caution” (as Journeyman Geek puts it), but, at the risk of ruffling some feathers, I believe that some moderators sometimes get it wrong, and decline perfectly appropriate flags. On the other hand, there are quite a few high-rep users who routinely vote to delete incorrect answers, which is the wrong thing to do.

Dec 7, 2017 at 12:21 | comment | added | I say Reinstate Monica | I feel your pain. When I started using Super User I would use the NAA flag on wrong answers thinking, "That's wrong! That doesn't answer the question!" But wrong answers should be downvoted, not deleted as @Mokubai points out.
