Sep 7 at 11:55 | comment | added | Journeyman Geek Mod | It's about a 9 months since this happened. I don't recall the thought processes nor do I think there's any productive outcome in relitigating a decision made on a specific post and comments at this point.
Sep 7 at 10:32 | comment | added | galacticninja | "the moderation style here is often about defusing issues rather than trying to take punitive measures." I recently read an MSE post about the impact of "unfriendly or unkind" flags. It turns out there aren't really any punitive measures for "unfriendly or unkind" comment flags marked helpful. So, I'm even more confused about why my comment flags were declined. Couldn't they have been marked helpful without any punitive impact on the user?
Jan 7 at 4:47 | comment | added | Journeyman Geek Mod | pretty much its either drop the hammer and delete it, or decline
Jan 7 at 3:58 | comment | added | galacticninja | "its possible it got declined for other reasons […] I'll need to poke at that." Could it be that this was a mistake and the mod who handled the flag actually meant to mark my flags as "helpful"?
