This Answer has been Downvoted by someone who did not give a clue on why Downvote was necessary :
Is selection with mouse in the Terminal made by the GUI or Bash?

The Downvote is immaterial and I am not bothered too much by it.

But I am bothered by the Mark for Deletion !
Why it is Marked for Deletion ?
What Exactly is wrong here ?

A "Non-Speculative" way to put this Question :
What can I change to make this Answer better ?

  • Only the person who voted for deletion can answer why they voted that way.

  • I was hoping that there must have been some comment given by the "Delete-voter" which might be "visible" only to mods , hence this Meta Question , @DavidPostill

  • There is nothing additional visible to mods.

  • Your answer has zero delete votes currently. On a separate note, just because you disagree with the single downvote, does not mean the vote is unjustified. After all neither of the answers upvotes have been explained.

  • (A) When I checked right now, it was still showing "Delete(1)" & mouse-over shows "2 votes more required to Delete" ; Maybe you are looking at the Question, not my Answer (B) I have realized that users can (& will) upvote wrong answers & downvote correct answers : voting is not indicative of correctness. I have no Issue with that; I am only bothered by the Deletion. (C) I once had a question closed and later deleted; When I asked in Meta, I was told (loosely speaking) that "Ideally" the Q should not have been closed but it was going to be Difficult to get enough reopen votes. @Ramhound

  • (D) I wanted to avoid that Delete+reopen Scenario, by asking before the Deletion got through (E) Upvotes & Downvotes need no "Explanation", but when I choose to Delete/Close/flag Posts, I am given a list of Possible Justifications & I have to select : I was only asking about those "Details" which may be visible to mods. Earlier Comments seem to indicate that the Delete-request has no Details. @Ramhound

  • The reason I cannot see the amount of delete votes is due to the fact it’s ineligible for any additional delete votes. It will eventually age away.

  • @Ramhound FWIW, delete votes do not age away.

  • @Spevacus - Granted. Question is still ineligible to be voted to be deleted when I last looked.

  • @Prem - A delete vote requires the selection of a reason, that reason might be "no comment", but a selection, is still made by whomever issued the vote. Your answer is ineligible to be deleted as of today.
