Is there any way to type two backtick (or grave accent) characters (\`) in my question without formatting my text in unwanted way?

I know I can enter a grave accent at one place, like this: <kbd> Alt+`</kbd>. 
But as soon as I try to repeat this character anywhere in this text block, the whole formatting of the sentence goes wrong.
One way is to type single quote (') in place of backtick, but that isn't the correct way.
