In the first lesson in my info-sec class I learned how bad the German term "Sicherheit" is, which can be translated to either [security](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Security) or [safety](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safety), which makes it hard to distinguish between two very different topics, that are often diametral when designing a system. I was a bit baffled when I tagged [a question](http://superuser.com/q/681919/65379) with [tag:safety] and it got synonymized to [tag:security]. I am not worried about the security of my system at all, but I am certainly worried about the safety of my endeavor. What was the reason to do this? I don't think it was a good idea and propose to un-synonymize them.
