In the first lesson in my [information security][1] class I learned how bad the German term "Sicherheit" is, which can be translated to either [security][2] or [safety][3], which makes it hard to distinguish between two very different topics, that are often diametral when designing a system. I was a bit baffled when I tagged [a question][4] with [tag:safety], and it got synonymized to [tag:security]. I am not worried about the security of my system at all, but I am certainly worried about the safety of my endeavor. What was the reason to do this? I don't think it was a good idea and propose to un-synonymize them.
