Wait. Eventually someone will answer the question. There is also a system that automatically 'bumps' questions without answers to the front page after a certain amount of time. We also have a section in the Help Center about this: https://superuser.com/help/no-one-answers Bumping questions is also frowned upon: https://superuser.com/questions/986865/...

The purpose of the First Posts review queue is to help new users get up to speed by giving them feedback if needed. All the queue does is identify new users' initial posts in an easy to find place to facilitate feedback. It and the Late Answers review queue don't add any extra options relating to closure or deletion because those posts are not in those ...

Should I also leave the new user a comment, explaining that answer posts are for actual answers? You are not obliged to leave comments when flagging, but it is good to leave the user something to help him improve his answer (or question). If the user is actually asking a new question I would leave the following comment: This is not an answer to the ...

Depends on the question, but upvotes to an extent is a popularity contest. Unlikely No, pick what you consider to be the best answer. That said, that's a pretty odd question, and I'm waffling on whether it passes the 'minimal research' test.

I'm not sure if it's a bug. the previous flags are dismissed and you're flagging it for some other reason, perhaps the post has been vandalized again. It's up to you to not flag it multiple times. And oh, don't be fooled thinking Mods don't notice this or others haven't tried this before. Frivolous flags are treated with disdain, and not only we decide to ...

I think this flag was declined because the moderator saw the following text in the user's answer... On going into BIOS and checking the boot sequence I found that the Kindle had become the 1st boot device, and of course the PC couldn't boot from a Kindle! Changed the boot order back to the main hard drive and it booted-up as normal, with the Kindle still ...

Once you flag an answer as NAA, it goes to the low-quality queue. Reviewers in this queue are able to leave canned comments about questions posted as answers, comments posted as answers and a few other typical cases in a single click. So if the answer you're reviewing is not an answer at all, just flag it and go to the next one as your precious time is ...

This list is the key: Here are a few things it might or not be capable of—but only one at a time: charging the device itself with 20V / 3A. charging a connected device with 20V / 3A. provide a DisplayPort 1.4 signal—you need a passive adapter. The icon mentioned is the DisplayPort logo so it's rightly used to clarify a little the chaos ...

When any user posts a question as an answer, flag it for a moderator, marking it as "not an answer". Downvote if you so wish. But this, this is just a question: Thanks Nelson for the code I have almost the same question than jimtut, but I try to "toggle" the view with a single script. [...] I tried different ways to "read" the value of radio group 1 of ...

(Disclaimer - I posted a competing answer and as such in this situation I've mostly left that answer in the hands of my fellow mods.) I'd admit, on its own, it was a little ranty. On the other hand, it gave a good chunk of context my answer lacked and a ton of useful information outside the immediate context. I felt it was useful and worth keeping as such.

You picked "No Action Needed" on a post where at least an edit would have been the action required. It's not fine as-is, as the entire first sentence should have been at least edited out. That is the second least that would be expected. It's not clear either through all the introduction that it's something other than a comment. Downvote would have been a ...
