Should questions related to problems with beta software/prototype hardware be closed?
Not all certainly, since there are problems that can be solved. But when enough people agree that it's not something that can immediately be fixed without the software/hardware makers' help, I think a custom close reason would help for such cases.

Dealing with "Request for Work" type questions
@Sathya: See the examples above and there are many more in the same vein. Yes, some of them might be classified as being unclear, but what of those that are clear and yet expect a complete spoon-feeding type solution with no effort having been put in? (BTW, just saying "I tried and failed" or "I know nothing about this" doesn't qualify as evidence of adequate effort IMO.)

Dealing with "Request for Work" type questions
@IvoFlipse: As has been pointed out, these sorts of questions are by no means a rarity here on SU either.

What should be featured in our list of off-topic close reasons?
@nhinkle: Perhaps it was an old question; I don't remember which one I checked. All the options you've mentioned show up fine on a new question.

Please add a bullet for Android-related queries as well, since we see a lot of those here. Edit: The fourth point you've listed seems to be missing.

Thanks for the SEDE query, @Daniel!

Why are the tags "directory" and "folder" configured how they are, and not reversed?
Meh, I'm not concerned either way. I still use directory most of the time, as I guess would anyone who used DOS before Windows. Personally I don't think this is anything great to lose sleep over or even something that requires changing, but perhaps the community feels as passionately about this as you do...

Is there a way to send a hint to someone who suggest lots of edits?
Might want to contact this guy. All I see from him are kbd tag edits, and I'm extremely surprised at how a 10k and even a 100k user seem to be blindly approving them all.

Since in Windows all directories are folders, I don't see what the problem is with having directory as the synonym of folder. The term folder encompasses everything.

FAQ Link Missing From Top of Page
@DanielBeck: I have nothing against customised home pages or any other link sections for that matter. I still think the implementation of the top nav bar (which is the only area I've been focussing on from the beginning) at present across SE is haphazard and inconsistent. Guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on that. :)

FAQ Link Missing From Top of Page
@DanielBeck: Actually in this case MSO is consistent, but others aren't! You can't Chat when not logged in, but you can open chat and then log in there. The prominent link at least makes it obvious such an option is available. About/Tour are fine when on the front page but top nav links would help on other pages IMO. Badges was never a top nav link AFAIK, so I am not even including that in the discussion. I still feel Chat, Main/Meta, About and Help deserve to be always present to the left of Search for a consistent UI. There are lots of other locations where links can be tailored.

FAQ Link Missing From Top of Page
IMO the chat, main/meta, about and help links are absolutely essential and should be present in the top nav bar on both main and meta of all SE sites in both logged in and out states, no exceptions. Scrolling all the way down for some of these is not acceptable (especially for new users), and the current approach is just a mess. I mentioned this previously here, but perhaps the devs will listen if the mods pass on the message?

FAQ Link Missing From Top of Page
What I find really irritating now is how inconsistent the top nav bar is across SE. For example in MSO when not logged in I see
log in careers 2.0 chat main about help
, but when logged in I see username chat main about help
. So chat main about help
is constant which is good. On SU for example though, when not logged in I see sign up log in
, and when logged in username review chat meta help
. Where are chat/meta/about/help when not logged in, and where's about when logged in? On MSU the combination is again different.

Also, I don't know if it's possible to search comments, but searching answers for the word "typo" returns a number of results where the OP admits to a mistake while typing/editing. How might such questions be helpful to others?
