How can this question about display adapters / protocols be made acceptable?
Thanks; and for the edit, too. Good suggestion about what to focus on for future reference. Let's see if the question survives.

@DavidPostill That's true, but the way I look at it, the word "shopping" was removed after the first vote, a while before the remaining four, and even with the word in there it wasn't intended as a shopping question.

What is the appropriate disposition for "hiccup" questions?
Would you recommend deleting such a question, or closing it? It sounds like delete, but just confirming. If close, what close reason? For example.

Huge knowledge gap, Should these be closed as they encourage long comment chains?
@AthomSfere Additionally it helps others with the same question but without the knowledge gap. It's a loss to the Internet as a whole if a good answer isn't posted because the person with the question who just happened to be the one to ask it didn't understand the answer. Any remaining knowledge gap can be filled in with comments on the answer by one or more other people if they choose (meaning the knowledge gap burden isn't entirely on the author of the answer, the community can share it in comment form), as well.

Is there a way to get a email whenever there's a new answer in a thread?
Adding to this; there's a nice app that provides enhanced RSS feeds: stackapps.com/questions/1599/…
