(Edited to be a generic question; see old version if you're curious about specifics)

I googled "two files with the same name in the same folder in Google Drive"a question (Q) I had and see that thisthe only hit was to a deleted: https://superuser.com/posts/1466385/edit but(but cached) Q here and it (the Google-cached copy) looks like a legit questionQ to me, and it's the only hit.

I too have "two files with the same name in the same folder in Google Drive" and was wondering if that's a feature or a bug. ( Different but related question. )

Should itthe Q I found be / anyone want to undelete itundeleted? If not I can just post a new Q.

(I'm also curious what happens if I had my google drive sync'd to my local drive, where this can't happen (I can't think of an OS that does. NOT DOS, Win32, HFS,APFS(MacOS), NFS, ext3, or AFS, as I recall. MacOS has time machine, which allows versioning, as does Google Docs, etc. But "two files with the same name in the same folder"? (No, not a different extension.) Sure is odd.) Like the OP, I copied a file into a folder that already contained the file and now there are two copies. I've seen this a few times.)
