At this point, I'm not optimistic that we can change their minds by saying stuff like this, but I at least enjoyed reading your answer, and I agree with your normative claims. I've noticed that the main question has 25 upvotes and 7 downvotes, so clearly the issue is controversial enough to have more than just balpha and Gilles' downvotes, but the majority seem to think that, even if they personally aren't in love with the feature, it should be up to the chat communities to decide whether to have it or not. Oh well; majority doesn't rule here. SE does. | |
