, does a good job at it, and mentions this question as the reason, I don't see any reason why suggested edits that fix images on posts shouldn't be accepted. … However what you're talking about is alt-tags for the keyboard images I think - which apparently works by default. I'm curious - does work better? …

Why does clicking an image URL not work to open it in browser?
Short version would be that hotlinking was disabled with the new image hosting. I'd guess the image loaded on its own (not hotlinked), and you're getting it off the cache. Basically you can't.
