Increase number of visitors to a question (without bounty)
And.. what's wrong with giving a bounty? If people can answer it, they will - since thats a good way to get rep. If its a hard question, bounty is a good way to get more people interested in it.

Request to Re-Open Question #331125
It shouldn't be about branding at all. It should be about 'is this the most efficient way for us to do our business'. I've never let 'who' makes my software be a criteria - Its 'does it fit our budget, and is it $$ better than what i use now?'

Request to Re-Open Question #331125
"you have no idéa what my situation really is" - nor would any other user. The answers are based off what information you give. Context is also essential - there's a difference between switching one staff member, and 50, or moving your IT department or your secratarial staff. While its subjective, looking at the required effort/results/disruption is something you'd need to do. If you can say 'the cost of moving our data and training our employees is less than that for the software' then, go ahead - that's the only real justification you need.

How is the term "Computer" defined on Super User?
Well, in my view, if they totally disallowed 3rd party software, and it required you to 'jailbreak' it, yes. It becomes, in effect, an embedded device. I wouldn't consider the iphone or appletv to be a general purpose device for that reason.

well, its more "What is a computer" for the intents and purposes of SU - we have a pair of "why arn't tablet questions welcome here" questions, and one more situation where a vaguely consolish question got moved from here, to gaming, and back. I suppose, the purpose, as such, is to, well, spark discussion.

How is the term "Computer" defined on Super User?
well, personal to me, is as opposed to 'shared' like say, those old mainframes, or cloud based things - which also run on general purpose computing systems. I mean, i couldn't call them workstations, could i? ;p
