@Robotnik What's special about Asus laptops? Why do they need their own category/tag? In what way are they, as a group, different from other laptops significantly enough to justify that?
Unfortunately, I don't think we require email verification, so that won't work. MAC is local-network. IP could possibly work as a short-term stop-gap, but it's far from perfect (pretty easy to circumvent, could potentially catch innocents in the crossfire).
@nixda Well, a naive search is easy enough when just testing if the post body contains the text. But it might be more useful as part of the Related column.
While this doesn't answer the titular question, if you want to know what APIs are available you should be asking on Stack Overflow. That's where programming questions go. Super User deals with the use of systems, not writing software for them.
This has been discussed before, and the final decision was no, for the reasons listed there. That was five years ago, so perhaps it is worth a revisit, but I believe this is a network-wide issue and likely not best addressed on a site-specific meta.
Well, the argument against more data on the user profile page has always been clutter. In the event that not enough people really want that information, this is a viable alternative.
Considering "too localized" is no longer an option, perhaps this answer should be updated. (closing as "other" isn't ideal, since it falls under "off-topic"... I believe that carries a -1 penalty?)
