Should misguided questions be appropriately re-tagged?
For the record here is a copy of the post I made in chat regarding this - 'The user added that tag specifically because he asked for a solution in Photoshop (which you removed together with the tag. I would have rejected your edit with exactly the same reason (as @Ramhound has already done) - "This edit deviates from the original intent of the post. Even edits that must make drastic changes should strive to preserve the goals of the post's owner."' and 'The user specifically asked "How can I do this in photoshop". If it can't be done then say so in a comment. Don't change his question.'

Is this kind of "non-answer" appropriate?
Hmm. I suppose interpolation better fits that question, but curve fitting is better if the data is more random.

The process of closing a question is arguably rather hostile. Can we please find a better way?
If you wish to have a discussion examples are needed ...

On pro forma comments... Can we put some common sense into using them?
@JakeGould I don't recall ever having had a comment posted on my behalf without first being able to see what it was going to be. Can you provide a workflow example where that happens?

I also have some these canned comments in AutoReviewComments - Pro-forma comments for SE which I use if I'm the first to comment on an answer ...

Of the two canned comments they are auto-generated from review queue delete votes? The last is a "This is commentary on another post, not an answer" vote and the other one is a "This is an “I’m having this problem, too” comment" vote. So these are just reflecting the reason the reviewers voted to close. If I see an appropriate comment already there I use the "No comment needed" reason.

How long would I need to wait before bumping, if that's allowed at all?
It's not difficult to find a link to your only Super User question ;)
