Request for help with a question closed as "not constructive"
@bmike: I'm sure you're right and I also feel like a question like that could be useful. But the question would be likely to generate a list of things to look out for. There is no single correct answer. We refer to this as a "question that generates a list of correct answers". These types of questions are not welcome on Super User. Unless you want to make a community wiki and you have a starter answer to go with the question. To my understanding, Ask Different is less strict in that regard. So I definitely understand if this closure feels unwarranted.

The Windows 8 Challenge has ended, thank you for blogging!
The

markup is intended to generate a visual representation of a KeyBoarD key, not UI elements. And, no, there is no official rule ;)

Windows 8 contest - bounty tile awarded early
Setting a bounty on a question doesn't necessarily lose the bounty. Given the right circumstances, you only lose half (or none at all) of the reputation you've put up. The tile remains.

Request for re-opening a closed question
Good point. I'd still doubt the usefulness of such a list, but maybe someone else wants to offer an opinion as well :)

Do computer terminology questions belong here or on EL&U?
I asked in the [english] chat what they think about it: chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/6581061#6581061

@DragonLord: Well, I never really wanted to give the impression that it's off-topic. You just might get a more specific definition on English Language & Usage.

@DragonLord: In that specific case, I would agree with Ignacio, that the terms are still too generic, even in the given context.

Is this site not partly about uncommon specific software solutions?
I just wanted to mention the question as I was sure it was relevant to your question. I didn't have time to properly judge the matter yet.

What to do if I want to answer my own "non-constructive" closed question?
@Vi.: Even though you've received an answer, which you found satisfactory, to your problem elsewhere, posting that answer would not resolve the non-constructive-ness of the question. So there is no reason to reopen it. You could make a canonical (CW) question+answer that deals with the differences between the two virtualization environments. But I would seriously doubt if that is worth the effort.

Can I move/duplicate a question to another Stack site?
Please don't duplicate the question. Just flag it and tell us what site it should go to. Just make sure it's on-topic there :)
