This is what made stackoverflow's lists good to me. It was like reading a list of reviews from people you know were not spambots. The problem with them I saw was that you could get massive amounts of reputation from it for extremely simple answers and questions
Feb 14, 2012 at 17:54 comment added random Mod You only need to be registered to suggest an edit. 5k users can approve, 20k can write without approval. There is no voting, but then we'd be taking the alternatives from the tagged list of questions actually asked by users
