@IvoFlipse Miscalculated? That doesn't have to be a factor. It would make sense that placing a bounty slows your progress to the next privilege, but doesn't ever remove privileges.
There's also the fact that the Windows 8 release is probably drawing a little more attention from the general public than the most recent Ubuntu release. No hate for Ubuntu, just saying I think we all know what's a "bigger deal"...
@bmike Due to the Win 8 challenge we're so swamped with people right now who apparently have zero skills that I'm confident that your skill level had nothing to do with your question being closed and entirely to due with how open ended the question is, in combination with how quickly the answer could change. If a hypervisor has trouble with Win 8 now, it will be patched soon, leaving any answer about which tools and settings to use outdated. This would be fine if you focused on a single hypervisor, but you're multiplying this problem by three when you don't choose one to roll with.
@ChrisW.Rea This is what lead me to believe closing has nothing to do with deleting. Four out of those seven were closed over a year ago, but I get the feeling if I flagged for deletion it would be rejected. ;) I'm not trying to be argumentative, I just find it odd that many many closed questions are seeing frequent use, yet are supposedly on the verge of deletion?
@TomWijsman Thanks for the link. I had read that before and couldn't quite remember if it fully covered my question. I'm not wondering how to ask subjective questions, so much as when to close them and prepare them for deletion.
