So this is not a (real) question? But.. what is it?
@mlvljr Like he said, it is a suggestion. However, it's generally encouraged to show in your questions that you've done some legwork already. It also helps avoid the influx of responses saying "why not just do ____?" if you already ruled it out. It clarifies your needs and helps you get a relevant answer more quickly.

I know that. Before being closed, a question can be flagged by a user (such as myself) citing a specific reason out of those provided. NARQ is one, and off-topic (my choice) is another. Asking for software recommendations is similar to a "shopping list" question. Even if it's FOSS.

Why are my questions judged as low quality?
One forum I used to frequent had a minimum "business English" requirement. One of the major reasons for that was because the memberbase was international, and many of them did not have English as a first language. Here, it's a similar situation. Many members here are not as comfortable with English as others may be, so taking the effort to write properly and clearly goes a long way towards getting an answer to your question more quickly.

Firefox versions going to infinity – should we merge the tags?
@Psycogeek It may seem that way, but it still can change. Making assumptions now that are hard to backtrack later would be a bad idea.

Tags for Firefox should correspond to the naming scheme of that particular version of Firefox. We cannot assume that they'll continue with the numbering scheme ad infinitum. Just like Windows went from Windows 3 to Windows 95 and then Windows 98 to ME to XP to Vista and back to 7 and then 8, Mozilla may choose a different naming scheme sometime in the future. It's best to just follow that.

Old, answered questions bumped by newly posted answers
I suppose I felt that, with a Q&A type of discussion (at least on a site like this one), once something has been answered, then there's no need to add new answers. Especially since doing this will bump old questions to the front page when new unanswered questions may end up getting pushed down. I suppose that's what the "Unanswered", etc tabs at the top are for, though...

How do I log out of all Stack Exchange accounts at once?
Nice catch! It does the same for me. I wonder if this is a bug... And for the record, I'm using Google as well for my login.

Open-ended questions... That old chestnut
I believe, also, that this site strives to be a means to provide answers to questions that you would be hard pressed to find answers to elsewhere, it they even are out there at all. The point of having a community of experts coming together to share knowledge isn't to catalogue all the common trivia that one in any particular field will come to know and to share our own opinions and preferences, no matter how well reasoned, but to solve difficult problems that just aren't covered by your typical textbook, or which require that special combination of knowledge and experience.

Is Superuser's <code> CSS light-blue highlight near invisible on anyone else's laptop LCD?
I actually can see both fine. To see it better, I do have to tilt the screen just slightly back on my laptop, but I can make out the difference in normal viewing. Of course, YMMV. I never thought it was something really worth changing though...
